SURGICAL CARE

For those times when surgery is needed for your pet, you can be assured that Countrycare provides the highest standards of surgical, anesthetic and nursing care.

Preparation for a surgical procedures starts long before the actual surgery itself.

  • Consultation about your pet's procedure
  • Pre-surgical exam to evaluate for anesthetic or surgical concerns
  • Pre-anesthetic blood work

Surgical procedures are performed under "general anesthesia". Your pet sleeps painlessly through the entire surgical procedure. We use the safest pre-anesthetic medications and isoflourane gas anesthesia.

Our anesthetic monitoring includes an anesthesiology technician plus continual monitoring with the latest equipment including pulse oximetry, EKG, temperature, blood pressure and capnography.

We always use sterile instruments and wear gowns, caps, masks and gloves for sterile procedures. Thermal regulating equipment is used to maintain the patient's body temperature during surgery and recovery.

Our patients receive pre and post-operative pain medication and close monitoring during the anesthetic recovery period.

For elective surgeries, we offer several options to help make your pet more comfortable and the anesthesia/recovery process safer while also appreciating individual budget constraints.

If you choose to compare fees with other clinics, make sure that you evaluate the same quality of care. A surgical procedure is a "once-in-a-lifetime" procedure for your pet. Make sure that you get it done right.

Our specialized Surgical Equipment includes:
